54,000 strong poured into The Trout Pond in Artnumb to see the clash between the number 1 seed, Lashes Fer Landlubbers versus the 2 seed, Lethal Leap. The Leap won the regular season match-up, 2-1, and the Lubbers were looking to exact their revenge.
The opening kick went to the dwarf pirates. Zyman the Dancer used his abilities to gather up the ball and get it into a four guard pronged cage. They were able to get on knockout from their opening blocks. The Leap positioned themselves and waited patiently to get a chance at the ball. The Lubbers were able to move the ball up their right wide zone and into frog territory by turn three. The positioning of the dwarfs did not allow the Leap to blitz into the box and they had to continue backing up and waiting. The Lashes Fer Landlubbers started to win the numbers battle making it even harder for the frogs to defend. The Lubbers positioned themselves for a turn eight score but coach Furry decide to use his seventh turn to push Zyman the Dancer into the end zone to save his frogs from more of a beating.
The second half kick went to the Leap and they attempted to set up a two turn score. They were able to get players into position but didn’t pick-up the ball; as Beelzebufo double both downed, passed loner, then both down/skulled to end the Leaps turn 9. The Leap were able to get a scoring chance on turn 10 needing a, 2,3,3,2 sequence to score with a re-roll. The rolls didn’t come out in the frog’s favor and the ball was on the ground. Zyman the Dancer picked it up and ran into a three prong well guarded cage. The Leap made an effort to get back into a position to stop the Lubbers but the dwarfs were able to pound their way down to get their final touchdown. The Leap was able to set-up a two turn score and make the final more respectable at 2-1.
The key to this game was the brutality that the Lashes Fer Landlubbers showed. By the final kick to the slann they had only six frogs on the pitch. In their first meeting the Lethal Leap won the attrition battle and in the title game the Lubbers did.
A great season of Blood Bowl has been capped off by the Championship of the KUBBL going to Lashes Fer Landlubbers!
It is here! The championship of the KUBBL will be decided today in Portage. A neutral field has been chosen for the game and the citizens of Artnumb will be hosting this battle. The Lashes Fer Landlubbers look to take revenge on the only squad that was able to beat them this season, the Lethal Leap.
The Lubbers are the one seed with a regular season record of 6-0-1 and they earned their shot at the title by beating the Artnumb Trouts by a score of 2-0.
The Leap had a bit of a tougher road as they had to win their final three regular season games in order to even make it into the playoffs. That streak involved an undefeated Lubbers team and an unbeaten Saithe's Minions. The Leap beat the Minions a second time to get to the finals by a score of 3-2 in a barn-burner that came down to the final turn.
This looks to be an exciting matchup. Good luck to both teams.

RF: Four days. Just four days separates us from crowning a new KUBBL Championship squad. Hi I’m Robber Flowerets alongside Brain Splitty talkin’ about the KUB Bowl. Eight grueling games have led us up to this point and now we have our combatants.
BS: Spectators and news crews alike have flooded into Kalamazoo to cover this one. Each creature is just trying to get a morsel of good talk out of this week’s combats and coaches. Error Scandalrews is on site with the top seeded Lashes Fer Landlubbers. Error might I add you are looking loathly today.
ES: Thanks Brain, thanks Robber. As you well know these teams met in an epic week 5 clash that saw the Lethal Leap come out on top. Coach Beaux and the Lubbers don’t expect that to happen again. And frankly neither does the betting public . They have come in so heavy on the Lubbers the line has moved to a whopping 2.5!
I asked fans around the stadium to elaborate on how they saw it going. The consensus was that the Leap allowed no casualties in the game and caused two quick ones on the Lubbers, that scenario is not likely to happen again with the dwarf armor and the addition of some players who have learned the guard skill. The dwarf’s goal is to achieve the man advantage and then meticulously take their opponents apart from there. Zyman the Dancer is primed and ready to carry this team to the title.
“RRRRRRRRRRRR! We be ready to catch us some frogs, weigh ’em down and send ‘em to Davy Jones’ Locker!” – Zyman the Dancer
RF: Now we go to Slann Clayton with his report from the Lethal Leap.
SC: Thanks Robber. The Leap have spent much of their prep time mourning the loss of line frog, Barycholos. Memorial services took place yesterday and today the Leap get back to work. They came away with the victory against Saithe's Minions but didn’t achieve many of their goals in the process.
“We were hoping to gain more SPP but we are happy with the win” – Coach Furry
The slann will be hoping for some out of the ordinary rolls to again take place. They have the higher agility and better ball handing ability but are much squishier then their stout counterparts. The Leap have looked to Beelzebufo to take care of the hitting for them to allow the rest of the team to hop around.
BS: Well that the news from the frontlines. Stay tuned to BBPN for all the latest on the game.

BBPN: Playoff Preview
BBPN: Playoff Preview
Our first playoff game is a rematch of possibly the strangest match of this or any season. As some of you may remember, the first meeting of the Lashes Fer Landlubbers (6-0-1) and the Artnumb Trouts (3-2-2) saw the Lubbers start an extra man. The game was played all the way through before the error was noticed. As a result the coaches of these two teams decided to play the entire game over. In the actual game the Lubbers were able to get a numbers advantage over the Trouts by earning three casualties and knocking out a significant number of humans as well. The Lubbers rode their star rum-runner, Zyman the Dancer, to two touchdowns and a 2-1 victory. This time around the Lubbers actually have 12 players but promise to field no more than 11 at any one time.
Keys to the Match – with Spike Ditka
“The first key to this match will be the top rated defensive abilities of the dwarfs. The Trouts need to show the offensive ability that led them to scoring 11 touchdowns this season. The humans will need to score at least 2 times to have a shot at the Lubbers. The question is; can they do it?
The second key is Zyman the Dancer. The Lubbers lean heavily on their agile leader. If the Trouts can take the ball out of his hands the dwarven offense could completely stall.”
The second game features a rematch of a game that should have been much closer. Saithe's Minions (3-2-2) will again be taking on the Lethal Leap (4-1-2). The Leap won the first match-up 3-0 but in reality should have sustained some injuries. The Minions broke armor an astounding 15 times! Eight of those breaks resulted in knock outs and seven of them resulted in stuns. There is no way the frogs can expect to avoid casualties again.
Keys to the Match – with Herby Snotwards
“It’s simple. The Minions just need to continue the hitting from game one but finish it off with some casualties this time. In my opinion these frogs are due for some pasting, since a four casualty game against the Idlestein Olafs they haven’t given up a single casualty. That has to change for the chaos to reign.
Saithe's Minions will also be playing without the services of Malefik. He has been one of the team’s best hitters so someone will need to pick-up the slack, I’m looking at you Omega. Get it done! “
